Water Management

Wetting agents are essential to maximizing turf efficiency and giving you the playability you’re looking for, but selecting the right combination of “water movers” (surfactants) and “water holders” (hydration agents) for your climate and soil conditions can be a fine art.

Here are a few water management strategies to consider for the upcoming season:

MOVE MINERALS AND MANAGE DROUGHT IN WESTERN CANADA

In areas with high heat and sandy soil conditions, use a water holding agent to improve water penetration and retention. Layer in a water mover to offset the effects of poor-quality irrigation water. Surfactants make the water molecule smaller and more slippery, so they can move into tighter soil structures and prevent the buildup of sodium in your soil.

MANAGE MOISTURE AND DISEASE IN ONTARIO

In areas with high humidity, managing water is an effective way to reduce reliance on fungicides for disease control. If you’re the kind of superintendent who avoids turning the sprinkler system on all summer, check out Hydration A-Plus™. It helps the soil hold moisture, dilutes bicarbonates and sodium and provides even distribution of water.
